EYFS Letter

Welcome back to the new half-term. We are very excited to have opened the new nursery room today, the children will be settling in over the next couple of days. It is great to have now a warm, dry and exciting environment for all the children to enjoy. We are very appreciative that the school PTA has kindly paid for some lovely new furniture. To make for an easier transition in and out of Class 1 the Nursery children will be going in and out of the conservatory door and the Reception children will be using their usual door in the little playground. We are encouraging the children to be as independent as possible, so please hang their bookbags and lunchboxes on the gazebo before school and let them go to play with their friends. They will collect them at the beginning of the day and take them into the classrooms. Having our new space is allowing us to have separate maths, phonic sessions each morning. Outside these times the children will have access to both classrooms and outside for continuous provision learning.

Reception Children – PE kits need to be returned to school ready for our lesson on Wednesday. Please ensure that they have shorts, tshirt, tracksuit bottoms/leggings, PE pumps or Velcro trainers, underwear and socks for spares.

Nursery Children – do not need to get changed for PE. We do PE on a Monday and Wednesday usually. Please send your child to school on these days in suitable clothing eg leggings/tracksuit bottoms and trainers. Nursery children need to have spare clothing in a bag that can be left in school including underwear and socks. If your child has regular accidents or a tendency to attract mud and water please include a few sets of underwear and trousers.

We really discourage the need for a rucksack. Lunchboxes with a handle do not need to be placed in an extra bag. Not only do we struggle for space but the children really struggle to squash everything in independently.

All children receive free fruit each day and free milk until their fifth birthday. Once your child is 5 payment can be made via the CoolMilk website. Tuck payments for this half term are due if you did not pay for the

complete term in January. This is 20p per day for toast, rice cake or breadsticks. This is optional, but the majority of parents do pay for this snack. If you are paying by BACs please could you let me know by email. Copied below are the details sent out last half term.

Spring Term 2 – 25 days @ 20p per day £5.00
