Welcome Back
Welcome back to a more normal term in school. We are very pleased that the children can all mix together as a school once again at playtimes and lunchtimes. We will of course continue to be ‘hygiene aware’ with plenty of handwashing and cleaning, but this is a welcome step forward!
The school is very full at the start of the new school year with 86 children now attending! We welcome Aubrey-Mae, Edie, Jacob and Aria to Nursery; Sofia, Callum, Toby and Ghyll to Reception; Flo and Sam to year 2; Jacob and Charlie to year 3, and Sam and Annabelle to year 5. We also say hello to Mrs Gibson in class 3 and Mrs White in class 2. Thank goodness for the new classroom…
With the relaxing of restrictions, we have a lot of activities planned, including the juniors attending the County show on Thursday and a junior residential in Keswick in the first week of October (details will follow); plus a whole school trip to see a performance of the ‘Horrible Histories’ Georgian and Victorians.
We are working hard to get the school working ‘normally’ again and as well as still titivating the last bits and finishing tidying up, after the extensive electrical refit over the summer.
Most importantly we would love to have volunteers back in school again to help with anything at all! If you feel you have an hour or even a morning spare and would like to listen to some children read or help with some maths or create a display, then please just speak to any member of staff.
Finally, could I just remind you all about the parking issues we face with some of our neighbours and that the Heron Hall car park is available for the school to use. Please try to keep driveways clear especially when things are busy. Thank you.
If you have any questions or queries then please see me at any time.
Best wishes,
Simon Brabant
