Dear Parents

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope that you have all had a lovely Christmas and a restful break over the holidays. It has been lovely hearing all about the things that the children have been doing over the holidays.

This half term we will be concentrating on the topics of Winter and the North and South Pole, as well as traditional tales.

We will continue with our Forest School sessions on a Friday morning and our PE slot is on a Monday afternoon. Please make sure that children in Reception have their PE kits back in school. Nursery children just need to wear suitable clothing for sport. Earrings need to be preferably removed before school or taped with surgical tape before school for PE.

Can I please remind you that long hair needs to be tied up and that children are wearing shoes that they can easily put on and fasten e.g. Velcro?

We are beginning our reading challenge on Monday, following numerous requests from the children as to when it is starting. Please see the separate earlier email regarding details. Please make sure that book bags are in school every day.

Mrs Barker has sent an email out regarding tuck money for this half term. I would appreciate it if you could let me know if you have paid for this via BACs, it makes it easier than asking Mrs Barker to check for me. You can also pay by cash if you prefer. Your child receives free milk until they turn 5. If you would like your child to continue having milk it needs to be paid for via the CoolMilk website.

Please remember to support the Friday Cake Raffle. Tickets are 50p each and available to buy on a Friday morning. If you could sign up to provide the cake (homemade or bought) there is a sheet outside the front door.

Best wishes,
Helen Ireland
