Camp 27th – 29th September

As you all know, the residential aspect of next week’s camp can no longer go ahead, but we have a bumper three days lined up! We have deducted the residential cost and added more activities to keep the cost at £75 (payable by October 1st please).

The children will be travelling by minibus every day and will return to school every evening to recharge at home. I have included the itinerary below. If you have any questions, then please see me at any time.

Wednesday

9:00 am: Depart school and travel to Grasmere for river fieldwork up to Easedale Tarn, in support of our Geography. We will continue our water studies in the afternoon at Brockhole. We will return to school for a sausage and chip dinner before a 7:00 pm pick-up.

Thursday

8:00 am : Leave school and travel to Glenridding on Ullswater for a morning of water sports at Glenridding Sailing Centre.
After lunch we will take the Ullswater Steamer to Aira Force and look at the falls.
Walk back to Glenridding on the Ullswater Way.
Talent show and burger in school before 7:00 pm pick up.

Friday

9:00 am: Leave for White Scar Caves, Ingleborough in support of our science for a tour of the caves. After lunch walk across Twisleton Scar limestone pavement above the cave systems.
4:00 pm prompt pick up from school.

We will be providing packed lunches on all 3 days as well as evening meals on Wednesday and Thursday. Could the children still bring some sort of cake or traybake with them on Wednesday morning, please!! We will tell the children what to wear each day – but lunch box, water bottle, day bags, waterproofs and trainers or walking boots are a must.
