The Christmas Giving Project
As Christmas approaches, we are excited to share a change to our usual Christmas giving project. This year, instead of supporting the Christmas shoebox appeal, we will be supporting something closer to home through The Salvation Army Christmas Present Appeal.
The appeal helps bring Christmas joy to children and young people who may otherwise go without a present on Christmas morning. We would love our school community to come together to support local families and help make Christmas a little more special for those who need it most.
We are asking for donations of brand-new, unwrapped toys, gifts, and accessories. There is no minimum or maximum number of items you can donate, and every single contribution, no matter how big or small, will be greatly appreciated.
To help you choose a suitable gift, here are some suggestions from The Salvation Army’s gift list:
Suggested Gift List
Ages 0–3: Dolls, teddy bears, cot mobiles, baby clothes, bath toys and puzzles.
Ages 3–5: Dolls, action figures, cars, lorries, colouring sets, pencils, crayons, books and puzzles.
Ages 5–9: Educational games and toys, stationery, colouring sets, school sets, books, puzzles, word searches and crosswords.
Ages 9–12: Games and toys, stationery, books, T-shirts, hair accessories, gloves, scarves and hats.
Ages 13–16: Books, make-up and toiletries (ideally with non-allergenic ingredients), gloves, scarves, hats, T-shirts, hair accessories and gift vouchers.
Please ensure that all donations are new and unwrapped, as the gifts need to be sorted and matched to children and young people appropriately.
All donations must be brought into school by Friday 27th November.
If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to speak to me.
Your support and generosity are greatly appreciated, as always. Thank you for helping us spread kindness and Christmas cheer within our local community.
Kind regards,
Miss Chant
