Agenda
1. Mother’s Day Cream Tea
Planning for the Mother’s Day Cream Tea is underway, with promotion shared with both the school community and the village.
Key points:
· Event advertised on Facebook and within the village.
· Seven tickets sold so far, with the option to pay on the door.
· Numbers will be monitor
· Need to confirm catering requirements.
Catering and preparation:
· Susan and others volunteered to bake scones (plain and with sultanas), cakes too.
· Items required include clotted cream, jam, butter, cheese and mustard.
· Cake stands will also be needed.
Operational support:
· Children under supervision will help serve.
· Jess and Robin to share across local mother and baby Facebook groups.
2. Mother’s Day and Easter Raffles
Preparations are underway for the upcoming raffle activities.
Key points:
· Mother’s Day raffle tickets are ready.
· The Mother’s Day hamper will be collected tomorrow.
· A reminder will be sent to parents.
· Tickets will also be sold at school in the mornings from Monday.
· Alice to prepare the hampers.
3. Beetham Parish Council Event
The PTA will attend the upcoming Beetham Parish Council event next Thursday.
Key points:
· PTA members will attend to promote and sell tickets for future events.
4. Mufti Days and Donations
Upcoming mufti days will support prize donations for upcoming events.
Key points:
· Thursday 6 March – Mufti Day.
· Thursday 19 March – Mufti Day.
· Donations will be used for Bingo prizes and raffles.
· Some donations have already been received.
5. Bingo Night – Friday 20 March
Planning is underway for the upcoming Bingo Night.
Key points:
· Six games of bingo planned.
· £5 for six books.
· Heads or Tails – £1 entry.
· Adults-only game – £2 entry.
Prizes and refreshments:
· Two bottles of whisky have already been donated.
· Tesco order to include wine, fruit cider, lager/beer, gin, tonics, lemonade and mixers.
· Snacks to include crisps (sharing bags), Fruit Shoots, mini Haribo and chocolate buttons.
Promotion and planning:
· The event will be advertised within the village.
· A reminder will be sent the Friday before the event.
· The event may be cancelled if attendance is below 40 people.
6. Nursery Opening
Official nursery opening was discussed.
Key points:
· Proposed date: Friday 17 April.
· Parents and members of the village may be invited to attend.
7. Future Fundraising Activities
Morecambe Bay Treasure Hunt
Key points:
· £2 per entry sheet.
· One prize per sheet entry.
· Robin to draft an email to accompany the activity.
· Sheets to go on sale at the Bingo event.
Quiz Sheet
A quiz sheet is prepped for next term.
Key points:
· Theme: The Lake District.
· Could be placed on tables at events, and in local stores and businesses.
· Planned to run for approximately two months, ending in June.
8. PTA Funds and Equipment
A brief update was provided on PTA funds and equipment.
Key points:
· Current spending remains under £2,000.
· The chicken cages donated 12 years ago were discussed as they are becoming difficult to clean and maintain. Discussed using funds for a new movable cage, which will allow easier visibility for the children.
9. Summer Events
Initial ideas for summer events were discussed.
Key point:
· The possibility of providing a poll-type tick sheet for children’s bookbags during summer events will be explored further.
Date of Next Meeting – TBC
