Class 1 Reading Challenge
Dear Parents
We are returning our Reading Challenge in Class 1, starting tomorrow. Reading with your child is so important in their learning and we want to develop a love of reading. We would like the Reception children to read their school reading book and the Nursery children to share their chosen book with you. Each time you read with your child at home please comment on their yellow reading record. We will check bookbags each day and after five days, your child can choose a class-reading teddy to bring home for one night. Your child can then read to the teddy that night, upload a photo to Tapestry maybe and return to school. The reading challenge will then start again, after five more reads they can choose another teddy to bring home for the night.
If your child does not have a bookbag, these can be purchased from the school office and from Coniston Corporate via the link on the school website at £7. Your child can then begin to bring home school books and receive a yellow reading record and join in the challenge.
