Class 2 News

I hope everyone had a good half-term break. Each child wrote their holiday news on Monday so I have had a small window into what you have been up to – it all sounded a lot of fun.

The children have, again, come back keen and eager to learn. The theme for this half term is ‘Into the Past and Dinosaurs.’  The children loved learning about the Great Fire of London last half term, so I had a feeling they would be happy to hear about this topic. They cheered when I told them!!! We may have some historians in Class 2.

There are some changes to the weekly timetable, sadly Class 2 no longer have Forest School on Fridays, we have to let the other children in the school have their turn.
A huge thank you to Mrs Ratcliffe for her leadership on this. We made a lot of memories during these sessions, I will always remember being rocked in the hammock by a child while other children made muddy cups of tea and mud pie cakes for me.

Tuck

The children are enjoying tuck. It is taking us longer than we’d ideally like to sort out money and payments each morning.
It would help if you could pay cash or BACS at the beginning of each half term or week. Please contact the office for details.

Water bottles

Due to Covid, our water fountains are out of action. Please send your child in with a named water bottle each day.

Reading, please

We currently do not have our 2 adult volunteers in school to hear the children read. We are doing our best each week to hear your child read.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of hearing your child read during these formative years. Please make a note of when you read in your child’s reading record.

Thank you for the support you provide with spelling practice at home and with Wednesday challenges.

If you have any questions please email or phone school.
