Dear Parents and Carers
We had a lovely Christmas party today and afterwards enjoyed our Christmas lunch, followed by a virtual pantomime performance of Rapunzel. We are also doing very well with our virtual run to Santa in Lapland. I believe that we only have about 50Km to do over the next two days, fingers crossed that the weather is on our side. It has been lovely to see the perseverance and stamina of many of the children.
Please will you let me know if you would like your child’s Forest School bag to be brought home over the holidays. It may be an opportunity to check the contents and add any further layers, as well as hats and gloves.
We will be starting forest schools again in January, please could you ensure that your child has with them on Tuesdays:
Warm layers of clothing, eg vest, T-shirt, fleece, waterproof warm jacket (or room to add their coat underneath a waterproof)
Hat
Gloves
Extra pair of socks
Wellies (These are hopefully in school)
Spare set of clothes for afterwards if they get wet.
Pair of shoes (Don’t come to school in wellies from home, we need shoes to wear in school afterwards)
A plastic bag to send home any wet or muddy clothes.
Please make sure that clothing and carrier bag is sent back in the following week.
Most of the children will have brought their PE kits home earlier this week. Please make sure that in January your Reception child has:-
Green Storth PE T-shirt
Black PE shorts
Tracksuit bottoms or leggings
Spare underwear and socks, girls need socks for PE if they are wearing tights
PE Pumps or velcro trainers
Nursery children do not require a PE kit, but please ensure that they have spare underwear, socks and a change of clothes in school each day. These can be left at school if you prefer, so as they don’t go backwards and forwards each day.
Please could Nursery parents check their 30-hour eligibility codes before the end of the month? If you require any help please let me know. Nursery children can order school lunches from January, you should have received log in details from Mrs Barker. Orders and payment will need to be undertaken in advance, for the dinner to arrive from Milnthorpe. There will be a three-week rolling menu, I believe that lunches can be ordered up to three weeks in advance too.
We would like to wish you a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Best Wishes
Helen Ireland
